Enys Brook - Low Energy Home

Enys Brook is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just outside Falmouth. This eco- refurbishment and extension project seeks to create a flexible family home with a stronger connection to the surrounding garden and woodland. Through targeted thermal upgrades, the house will become an energy-efficient home designed to serve future generations.

The proposals combine an extension to the existing building with a comprehensive improvement of its thermal envelope. The new addition strengthens the relationship between the house and its landscape, opening up views and access to the garden and woodland beyond. Conceived as a pavilion set lightly within the site, the extension responds sensitively to its surroundings. A canopy shades the southern façade, reducing solar gain while also providing a covered outdoor space that can be enjoyed year-round.
